Literacy and Language Development
Literacy and Language development include all the skills related to reading and writing of English and Urdu language, such as recognizing and writing letters and words, understanding pictures, ability to form words and sentences (morphology and syntax), vocabulary, awareness of speech sounds (phonology) and understanding how language is used in different contexts (pragmatics).
Storytelling is a great way to introduce language to kids. They develop an interest in reading, understand the meaning, and convey their understanding to others. Through listening to others reading, they are encouraged to begin to read and write themselves. Other tools to introduce language include role-plays and games that introduce them to sounds, rhyming words, improve their vocabulary as well as listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
